What we keep, and why.

1. What this site does

Sleeper Stats reads publicly available fantasy football data from the Sleeper API and presents it as matchup history and performance records. Everything it shows is data Sleeper already publishes about public leagues. We are not affiliated with Sleeper.

2. Information we collect

When you use the site you give us a Sleeper username or user ID, or a league ID or league URL. We send those to the Sleeper API to look up the corresponding public data.

Our server also receives the ordinary information any web server receives with a request, such as your IP address and browser user-agent. We keep a log of each request served (the time, the page, the manager or league it was about, and the browser user-agent) alongside a short hash derived from your IP address and user-agent; the address itself is not stored. We use Google Analytics on every page, which collects usage information about your visit. See sections 5 and 6.

We do not ask for and have no way to receive your name, email address, password, or Sleeper account credentials.

3. Data we store

We do maintain a database. Looking up data live on every request would be far too slow, so results are stored and reused. Specifically, we keep:

Sleeper user IDs, the public display names attached to them, and the ID of the public avatar image each account has chosen.
League IDs, league names, seasons, league settings, and the team name each manager has set in a league.
Weekly matchup results: which two teams played, what each scored, and the players on each roster that week.
A copy of the raw responses the Sleeper API returned, so we do not have to ask again.

All of it is public Sleeper data. None of it is information you told us that Sleeper had not already published.

Because fantasy leagues are shared, looking up one person necessarily stores the league and matchup data of everyone else in their leagues. Someone can therefore appear in our database without ever having visited this site, in the same way they appear in the public Sleeper API.

4. How long we keep it

Indefinitely. Completed weeks of a fantasy season can never change, so once stored they are kept and reused rather than re-fetched. We do not currently run a deletion schedule.

If you would like the data associated with your Sleeper user ID removed, email us at the address in section 10 and we will delete it.

5. Cookies and browser storage

This site sets one cookie of its own, and only if you ask it to: when you click “This is me” on a manager’s page, a cookie holding that Sleeper user ID is stored for a year so the site can greet you with your own leagues. It holds nothing else, “undo” on the same page removes it, and the ID is noted alongside the pages you open so we can tell returning visitors from new ones.

The site also remembers your last few lookups in your browser’s local storage so the home page can offer them again. That list holds Sleeper user IDs, league IDs, and public display names, the same values you typed in. It stays on your device; the server never receives it, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies, which are used to measure and attribute site usage. Clearing your cookies or using your browser’s tracking protection removes them.

6. Third-party services

Sleeper API: every lookup you make is a request to Sleeper for public league data.
Sleeper’s image servers: avatar images are loaded by your browser directly from Sleeper.
Google Analytics 4: loaded on every page for usage analytics.
Buy Me a Coffee: a link in the footer; nothing is loaded from them unless you follow it.

Each of these has its own privacy policy, which governs what they collect when your browser contacts them. We encourage you to review them.

7. No sale of information

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer what we store to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

8. Security

The data we hold is public information republished from Sleeper, so a breach of it would not expose anything private. We still take reasonable precautions against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, but no site can promise perfect security.

9. Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted to this page, and the date at the top will be updated.
